ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Employees at an Abilene pawn shop sprung into action after a theft grabbed a gun from their store then fled on foot Wednesday morning.
The suspect entered Wild Bill’s Pawn [The official Pratt on Texas 2nd Amendment and Anti-Wimp Headquarers for the Big County] at the corner of Ambler Avenue and Grape Street just before 10:00 a.m., took the gun, and ran.
One employee chased him on foot while the other hopped in his vehicle, and they followed the crook for blocks before they finally caught him at the intersection of N. 20th Street and Swenson Street.
One of the employees involved in the chase had a Concealed Handgun License, so he held the suspect at gunpoint until he dropped the stolen gun and ran away once again.
The suspect was eventually captured after Abilene Police K9 Officer Tex was able to find him hiding in a shed nearby.
He was arrested and will face multiple charges. The suspect’s identity has not been released.
