- Lubbock city council makes taxpayers pay for transsexual surgery counseling – you think you live in a conservative area but the council didn’t act that way AND there is a media blackout on the matter. We only learned of this because KCBD had a reporter who knows something covering! TO THE SUBJECT: There was no reason that the council had to vote this item through. Hutcheson simply asserted that it was required using the word “probably”. The council could have directed the legal staff to compile a comprehensive report on the matter and then acted in the future from an informed position. Trying to sneak this through on the consent agenda demonstrates bad faith to begin with.
