…”The football team saw the man trying to steal the bicycle and chased after him, said MSU Defensive Coordinator Rich Renner. The man got off the bike, grabbed the clothing and tried to run toward Taft Boulevard.
“Renner said several players caught up to him and used their tackling skills to take him to the ground. The team then piled on top of the him, which would bring a penalty in a game but is allowed when waiting for police. MSU police arrested the man for the bike theft.
