HOUSTON – “An Hispanic male attempted to steal a trailer that had a John Deere tractor on it. The homeowner said the man used bolt cutters to cut the chain to his automatic fence and when he saw the homeowner, he ran across the street. The homeowner was home at the time and saw the suspect. The homeowner shot the suspect twice,” reported KPRC.
KTRK reported that “The homeowner [then] held the suspect at gunpoint until police could get there.”
The 35-year-old suspect was shot in the arm, he was discovered to have a felony warrant for auto theft. “The suspect was transported to Ben Taub and is expected to survive,” KPRC’s report states.
