“Just before 8:00 p.m. is when police were notified of the shooting at the Lexington Apartments in the 1500 block of Holleman Drive. Police officers found Zebulun Jarell Ransom unconscious with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
“The 28-year-old from Bryan was taken to a hospital where he later passed away. The resident of the apartment told police he heard a knock on his door and when he opened it, Ransom attempted to force his way in.
“The resident, who was armed with a gun, told police Ransom was also armed with a gun.”
