- Bowie Memorial Hospital – the next step VIDEO “”It’s very sad anytime you have a city this size that loses its hospital,” Mayor Larry Slack said. “My initial reaction is what will we do to provide our citizens healthcare?”” Sorry but it’s not government’s job (unless you’re a Socialist) to provide healthcare to citizens. We live in freedom and its the citizen’s job to obtain services for themselves. It seems not that many wanted to obtain those services from the local hospital.
