This Lubbock locally… I couldn’t find anyone to help. The city has put down tar strips in an area from 34th to 50th and from Indiana to Memphis and then to save money used a cheaper grade of sand to cover the strips. An executive with the street department from Dallas said they did the same thing about three years ago and the EPA stepped in and fined them several thousand dollars because the sand was not properly sterilized and was causing health problems. The sand in this area of Lubbock is getting into homes, lawns and all over the cars and it seems to never go away. All this to save a few bucks might cost thousands more and at the least shows no respect for Lubbock homeowners.
