Early Friday morning, 15 May 2015, at approximately 12:53 a.m., Lubbock police received a call about a home invasion in the 2400 block of 33rd Street. A black male and Hispanic male walked into the victim’s residence as they were in the process of moving out. The black male was armed with a handgun. When the victims didn’t comply with the suspects’ demands, the armed suspect fired a shot into the floor according to Lubbock police.
The LPD press release states that “the victims fought back and the black male fled the scene. The victims struggled with the Hispanic male and detained him until officers arrived. During the struggle, the suspect was injured. He was transported to UMC with life threatening injuries where he still remains. The black male suspect is still outstanding.
