Austin – Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller today announced “cupcake amnesty” for public schools turning the decisions over whether sweets may be brought to school for parties and other gatherings to local school boards.
Commissioner Miller began by telling those assembled outside the Texas Dept. of Agriculture that his first official act in office, the amnesty, was an example of “doing less.” Miller said that he hoped those in the Capitol, who begin the 84th regular legislative session tomorrow, would take his example to “do less” and strengthen local control.
