SD28: Arrington’s hypocrisy rises to a new level (& he gets the district map wrong)

Tomorrow, Tuesday, 9 September, is the big election day for the special election for Texas Senate District 28 and we’ve just learned more about Jodey Arrington, his knowledge of the district, and his hypocrisy.

Jodey Arrington tweets out a very wrong map of SD28 from years ago but offers “leadership” for the district. See the correct map here.

Arrington sent out a twitter message saying that the “future of West Texas is dependent upon the leadership of District 28” along with a map of the district – the wrong map; one from years ago. Boy that’s leadership. I guess Arrington forgot what West Texas looks like from spending so much time as a government staffer in Washington, D.C.

Far more important is yet another example of a pattern of dishonesty we’ve seen from Arrington’s commercials. Arrington has been running a commercial criticizing Charles Perry’s endorsement from one of Texas’ most important conservative organizations as if he would never have anything to do with Empower Texans / Texas for Fiscal Responsibility.

I have posted at PrattonTexas.com Jodey Arrington’s signature on a form which was submitted to that same group asking for its endorsement just 36 days ago. It is hand-signed by Mr. Arrington.

Jodey Arrington’s signature seeking the endorsement of a group he now criticizes Rep. Charles Perry for having the backing of.

Arrington filled out 8 pages to request the endorsement of Empower Texans. He didn’t get it and is now attacking Rep. Charles Perry for having the backing of one of the state’s premier conservative political watchdogs. Is that honest leadership?

This is a pattern. Arrington is for private property rights in one interview and in another for local government having control of that same private property. In one forum he has had little to do with Imagine Lubbock’s big sales tax hike effort but in another he’s bragging of all his work with the group. How can you trust Jodey Arrington?

The SD28 election is simple. If you want a small-businessman with a proven conservative record who sees you, the taxpayer, as his constituent vote for Charles Perry.

If you want someone who, like so many other Legislators, sees constituents as the administrators at state universities, public schools, and other government functionaries, you can elect lifelong government bureaucrat Jodey Arrington.

  1. I think anyone with common sense that is in tune with current issues will vote for a proven leader, Mr. Charles Perry.

If a person wants to support a name dropping candidate whose single contribution to this race is a personal relationship with G. W. Bush then vote for and with the $$, Jodey Arrington.
