SD28: Arrington endorsements aren’t so “conservative”

In the special election race for Texas Senate District 28, Jodey Arrington touts endorsement from group which has given thousands to Democrat Wend Davis. The same group has been pushing for Medicaid expansion in Texas to complete the Obamacare disaster in Texas, it’s none other than the Texas Medical Association’s TEXPAC.

Daniel Greer, writing for AgendaWise, points out that “In addition to endorsing candidates during the 2014 primary, Texas Medical Association Political Action Committee (TEXPAC) has given to over 150 candidates. An analysis of that giving confirms that TMA is working against conservatives.”

“The association’s committee gives to members of both parties but it gives biggest to liberals. Republican incumbents with failing grades on conservative indexes received over $280,000 since January 2013. Members scoring the highest marks on conservative indexes received $16,000 over the same period of time. In December TEXPAC donated $7,500 to Sen. Wendy Davis,” reports Greer.

The story also details that only 2% of money given by the Texas Medical Association’s TEXPAC to incumbents in the last year and a half went to those rated firmly as conservatives.

This lib-loving PAC is one of two I’ve seen the Jodey Arrington campaign tout, the other? The Texas Public Employees Association, a Texas way of saying public employees union – another group which normally has only Democrats courting it and yet Arrington is reported, in the Plainview Herald, to have solicited their support.

I’m backing proven conservative Charles Perry in the SD28 race, early voting is underway.
