SD28 race has top-two reporting about $200K each

In the forming race for a special election to replace Senator Robert Duncan in Texas’ 28th Senatorial District, the top two announced contenders released similar cash on-hand numbers in the July 15th semi-annual fundraising report.

Former Texas Tech official Jodey Arrington reported $201,105.72 on-hand at the end of the reporting period (30 June 2014). Arrington raised over $206,000 in the period in a ramp-up to entering the race for SD28.

HD83 State Representative Charles Perry reported $194,654.66 on-hand. Perry reported raising over $130,000 in the period.

There was no state semi-annual report posted for former Sweetwater mayor Greg Wortham who has announced his intention to run for the vacant seat.
