Remove false mask of compassion in immigration debate

Why do liberals support policies that put the lives of poor women and children in serious jeopardy?

Think about it; even if the United States had a fully open-border policy where we just throw our arms around any and everyone who came across the Mexican-American border, that would not make Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, Bolivia, Columbia, Peru or any other nation in the hemisphere have the same policy.

In other words, an open border policy or the non-enforcement policy currently in effect is simply a draw for the poorest and weakest, to use the Left’s-description of most illegal aliens, to embark on what is unquestionably a life-threatening journey to get here. Only an ignorant fool thinks the trip through South and Central America is somehow safe until folk reach the USA.

Only an ignorant fool thinks the trip through South and Central America is somehow safe until folk reach the USA.

Supporting an immigration policy which encourages women and children to strike out on a trip to the U.S. is supporting putting their lives in the hands of corrupt governments, police, military, and of course criminal gangs who have no problem raping, robbing, enslaving and murdering these so-called undocumented people.

And sadly it’s not just liberals who set aside the realities of the world to support such disgusting policies. There are many non-liberals who also support what is essentially an open borders policy, or at least, a policy of non-enforcement which in practice is almost the same.

It’s time to speak truth and stop letting these folk hide behind a demonstrably false mask of compassion. There is nothing compassionate in a policy which encourages millions to put their weakest in such peril.
