- Crony: Ignore Election, Support ‘Business As Usual’
- Dewhurst, Straus Prep for Session Only One Will Attend
- Once a star in Texas GOP, David Dewhurst fell out of favor – he could have been governor if he’d not deferred to Perry running again and again. Really it’s his fault, maybe laudable loyalty but, still his decision.
- UT Prof: Candidates, for my students’ sake, please tackle issues, not each other – What hubris. Is he not smart enough to understand that the things he doesn’t recognize as “issues” are important issues to those who vote in primaries? This is a classic case of liberal elitism and ignorance. He thinks his view of what is important is what should be recognized as a standard and, is ignorant of why so many others find different things to be of paramount importance. The issue of character and record matters to people, if it were not so it would not dominate campaigns. Just another liberal wishing the world were as he would like and not as it is.

- 2 Lubbock TV stations have the wrong Dan Patrick winning the GOP runoff
- Strategists say Patrick was ready for Dewhurst from beginning – a well run campaign always is. You pre-brief your responses to everything you think may be brought against you. Sadly, there are few well run campaigns these days.
- Eyeing Hispanic Voters, Patrick Shifts His Tone – there is no “tone” shift, just a commitment to campaign in Dem strongholds.
- Austin-insider Bill Miller says Van de Putte “is the real threat” – frankly, I’ve never taken Miller seriously
- Van De Putte ready to face Patrick in lieutenant governor race
- Lieutenant governor’s race could be main event – they’re writing off Wendy Davis and moving here because they really think Dan Patrick is some extremist conservative. These media and consultant types are so out of touch that they think mainstream, time-tested conservatism is radical.
- Bill Hammond & TAB made wrong choice for Lt. Gov. – more and more TAB seems to be for big government, just big gov’t that benefits big business. While the GOP should always be business-friendly, we must pay attention to the details and no longer give TAB a nod just because it makes a claim.

- Curtis Report: Dallas County Republicans: Deconstructing the Black Conservative – moderates run the Dallas GOP establishment. I think conservatives, mostly, are far more involved in re-developing minority support from what I’ve seen. I know it’s the opposite of what we read and hear in the media but my experience is that it’s moderates who talk about this stuff and conservatives who go to work on the issue.

- Log Cabin Republicans denied booth at Texas GOP Convention – why should others accommodate what the believe to be wrong? And we’re not talking of some fringe definition – most every religion and society in the history of mankind has objected to homosexuality.
