Today is the last day of the early voting period for the Republican and Democrat Party primary runoffs. Election Day is Tuesday, the day right after Memorial Day. Pratt on Texas will be live on Memorial Day Monday as it will be election-eve.
There are no perfect candidates because there are no perfect human beings. We are limited to voting for those who filed to run, and in this case, made it to the runoff.
This campaign as gotten as nasty as I predicted with one camp lobbing the scandal-bomb at the other almost daily – in truth most of the lobbing has come from the low vote getter in the primary trying to turn the vote in the runoff.
Dan Patrick, Ken Paxton, Sid Miller, and Wayne Christian are conservatives with records to prove it.
What matters most is the governing philosophy, as borne out by each candidate’s public record. In the races for Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Agriculture Commissioner, and Railroad Commissioner all but one candidate, Ryan Sitton for the Railroad Commission-gig, has a long legislative record to judge.
And not in any of the four races are the candidates very close as to their conservatism. In fact these races are almost like having Democrats versus Republicans the differences are so stark. Dan Patrick, Ken Paxton, Sid Miller, and Wayne Christian are conservatives with records to prove it. Are they perfect? No. But each is better than his opponent and each has my full endorsement.
Vote today, Friday, 23 May, if you’ve not already done so. Otherwise you’ll need to vote on Tuesday.
Don’t let the moderates win, get out and continue the push for conservatism in Texas.
