State Board of Education could go from disappointing to disastrous

Pratt on Texas“The Republican-dominated State Board of Education could see up to two-thirds of its members replaced this election cycle. It would be a seismic political shakeup for a body that often tackles divisive issues, such as sex education, evolution and racial topics. Four Republican members on the 15-member board are retiring, two Democrats are seeking higher office and four incumbents are facing opponents,” reported the Austin American-Statesman.

The SBOE adopts “curriculum for all Texas public grade schools, approving textbooks, signing off on new charter school operators and managing the $44 billion Permanent School Fund,” the Statesman reminded.

Given that the current Republican dominated SBOE has been approving inherently politically-charged curriculum that aid the Left’s Balkanization of Texas and our nation, such as a new black-studies course and a Mexican-American studies course, it’s easy to say that Democrat control wouldn’t be much worse – except that it would be.

Even though Republicans have caved to massive pressure and approved study courses right out of the Left’s social devolution plan, the Democrats on the SBOE and those running for it are radical to the extent of changing our school curriculum to go full-California.

If Dems dominate the State Board of Education, you’ll see little children being indoctrinated with homosexual- and transsexual-sex education; full-out anti-freedom and capitalist climate change curriculum; American and Texas history revision, and; about every other Leftist propaganda program in our Texas schools – far more than we have today.

While the last few years have been a bit disappointing, had the Dems been running the SBOE it would have been disastrous.
