TEA rules to protect free speech rights of Fort Worth teacher; ISD officials should be sued for suppression of those rights

(Attention Dallas Morning News: Objecting to illegal entry and residency is not inherently “anti-immigrant.”)

Texas Education Agency chief Mike Morath said Georgia Clark should be reinstated by Fort Worth ISD and be given back pay and benefits, or be paid one year of salary instead.

Morath pointed out that Georgia “Clark did not sign away her free-speech rights in her contract with the Fort Worth ISD and that the district failed to properly challenge the findings of an independent examiner who said Clark should not be fired,” the DMN story reported.

The angry Leftists running Fort Worth ISD will be able to request another hearing on the matter and claimed to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that the TEA ruling was based on a technicality which is odd given the general comment made by Commissioner Morath about free speech.

She said nothing of this in her classroom but only on her personal Twitter account to the account of President Trump.

All the teacher did was to send a twitter message to President Trump expressing her opinion, likely provable, that her school district has many students who are here illegally and in another message asked Trump to “remove the illegals from Fort Worth.”

In so doing Ms. Clark ran afoul of the Left’s Orwellian-style Newspeak and expressed an opinion to her president that, while fitting with reality and the Rule of Law, is anathema to liberal Democrats, Socialists, and other anti-freedom Leftists.

She said nothing of this in her classroom but only on her personal Twitter account to the account of President Trump.

Not only should she be reinstated with back pay, officials at Fort Worth ISD should be successfully sued for government suppression of Ms. Clark’s right to free political speech.
