Listener: Wichita Falls mayor wastes time instead of taking needed action

Pratt,

It’s concerning that the Mayor of Wichita Falls would rather waste time attempting to silence my District Councilor rather than work towards fixing important issues that actually affect citizens.

My Manufactured Housing Community is being over-billed by the sanitation depart by $1,400 per month, because of an old ordinance that no one has ever challenged until now. I was able to get my concern in front of council after about 6 months of trying once Steve Jackson was elected. Councilor Desai was never of any assistance in correcting the issue.

I’m basically a charity for them, because I’m the largest community that is affected by this ordinance.

The city presented their case to the Mayor and Council with EVERYONE in agreement this ordinance needs to be changed. However, Mayor Santellana is forcing me to wait until October before any change takes affect that way it doesn’t disrupt the sanitation departments budget.

I’m basically a charity for them, because I’m the largest community that is affected by this ordinance.

The Mayor has also expressed concern that the money I would be able to save wouldn’t stay in Wichita Falls because I have properties in other cities across Texas. Which is false, and if it were true it wouldn’t matter because it is my business.

Thank you,

Eric,

  1. Hopefully you got it resolved & thank you.

  2. Steve Jackson says

Mr Pratt I would live to come back on your show again. The mayor has added to the agenda for this Tuesdays City Council Meeting to try & pass a code of conduct against me being transparent on what the City officials make.
