What is it about bums and libraries? I was at the new [Lubbock] Godeke Library
at Slide and the Loop earlier today and thirty feet from the library door was a
bum dressed in two or three coats snoring loud enough to be easily heard from
that distance. Of course, he had the obligatory shopping cart loaded down with
blankets and paper bags. My guess is that Michaels, Pet Smart and the other
retailers in that shopping center are not going to be too thrilled. Maybe he was
a branch bum on loan from the main library downtown.
