Dear Robert ,

I cant believe what I just read in the AJ today about secretaries Salazar, Napolitano and Clinton, trying to give Mexico co-ownership of 801,000 acres of Texas (Big Bend). What can I do to help in this fight? I am so sick of Obama I cant even begin to say, but this is just to close to home. I live in Lubbock but have a house and 70 acres at Comstock on Lake Amistad. This should never be compared to the partnership we have with Mexico at that dam. They own their side of the river and we own our side.

Pratt responds:

I didn't see anything in the story in which the U.S. and Mexico would surrender any ownership. They are talking about making the park bi-national in that you can roam through both parts as a park. Given the current situation with both the drug war in Mexico and our inability to enforce our own immigration laws, this is a ridiculous, stupid, and possibly dangerous proposal.

Added: Unifying Big Bend, Mexican land under study
