Pratt,

I listened to Reece Davis’ telephone interview with Tech Chancellor Kent Hance at Halftime of the Holiday Bowl (where Nebraska did the Big 12 proud). I thought it was unwise of him to comment on something that will obviously go to litigation.

It’s obvious what this is – the Tech powers-that-be are trying to get in front of this story because they don’t have a firm leg to stand on. If there was justification to fire Leach then Hance, Myers, et. al. would just keep their mouths shut. Instead they are trying to win this in the court of public opinion. That is highly suspicious behavior.

In addition, I was appalled that Craig James saw fit to comment on the situation while announcing the Holiday Bowl. And ESPN’s treatment of the subject was irresponsible. Where is journalistic integrity of ESPN? Nowhere to be seen last night. There was no thought of giving treatment to Leach’s side of the story. ESPN should be ashamed.

David

P.s. It figures it would be an SMU _____ (rhymes with wussie) that would help destroy the Tech football program. I hated SMU in the 70s and 80s when Craig James was playing and now I remember why. Adam James should be tarred and feathered in Lubbock and run out of town on a rail.

p.p.s. I’m a Texas fan, but I’m appalled by this situation

p.p.p.s Leach will come out of this smelling like roses and he’ll end up with a plum job at a tier-one football school that really wants to be successful. Tech will revert to its usual 6-5 mediocrity year after year.
