The email below was received by Pratt on Texas today. My reply is this:
Actually, he’s not a Muslim.
Believe it or not, he’s a Quaker, as many of the USA’s founders were.
Shami is
pro-Palestinian but has raised money for Israeli charities too (with Kinky
Friedman). He’s a democrat and I will not support him. But, I think Shami is a
pro-American (maybe not pro-Israel), pro-Texas patriot. I know a good group of
anti-Israel “conservatives” too, right here in Lubbock, but I wouldn’t call them
Muslims for that position though I strongly disagree with them.
This type of rumor spreading does Texas, the Nation and conservatives no good at
all. And this unfounded attack reeks of bigotry. There is plenty of policy and
experience issues from which one can criticize Shami, even with invective if so
desired.

MUSLIM candidate for Texas governor - BEWARE!!
Hello to all. This is a must read for all Texans or anyone who loves Texas. I can't support this guy solely on one fact alone and that is because he is a Palestian muslim who is anti-Israel. After I read both articles I knew this was important to pass on. I did check it out on the internet and he is running for governor of Texas. After what happened at Fort Hood, we do not need to stand by and let this guy lead our state.
Please forward to everyone who loves Texas.
Thanks, and blessings to all
Love
D.

TEXAS VOTERS BEWARE!! Please don't just dismiss this!
A Muslim is going to run for Texas Governor on a Democrat ticket.
I haven't heard about this one, but now I have and sharing with you who may not know..Listen up..after the Ft. Hood massacre.are we in Texas ready for a Muslim Governor..I'm NOT ready for this and you can call me a 'racist' if you want to, but I'm taking a stand on this one! Notice how 'squishy' the first article is such glowing terms of endearment for him..NO MENTION that he's a Muslim....oh no....we aren't supposed to have that pointed out....read the second article to get more information......Any guy that thanks Allah, is not going to get my vote..... Texans, pay attention to this... the last thing Texas needs is a Muslim governor... and by the way you can buy a generic chi at Sally's for half the price and it's identical to the chi....
Democrat joins gubernatorial race, says he'll spend $10 million in
primary Houston hair executive Farouk Shami says his focus is stimulating economy:
Then the email illegally reproduced several
newspaper stories which by the way did not say he was a Muslim.
