Pratt,

It was really rewarding to take the tour Saturday of the new jail. I was impressed not just in the building but also the officers there giving the tour. They have spent a lot of time on planning and design. They got the best bang for buck and they needed it! Now they can have the programs to help get those inmates back in population and better equipped to be apart of it! If I could thank each and every officer for the job they do I would. They now know Lubbock county thanks them!!  At least I do!

More praise:

I would like to thank all of you for the obvious great effort utilized to make this a successful event. It seemed to go smoothly and as planned. My grandson was also happy he came to see it. He also had a great time.

Another letter:

I didn't get a chance to tell you how much I enjoyed the county jail tour on Saturday. I had to go to Shallowater afterwards so I was unable to eat lunch at the Red Carpet. Hated that! My tour was conducted by the Chief and the Sheriff making the discussions even better. One other bonus to our tour was that we had the General Contractor with us also giving us insight as to some of the building intricacies as to the maintenance access areas. To be fair, we also had the county commission with us for a time although he never said anything to the group to my knowledge.

I think the thought and development of the design is tremendous and I especially appreciate that much of the "transfers" back and forth will be drastically cut with the video processing. Thanks go to the planners for including a place for the officers to get away for a few minutes (the Officers' Dining Room) - Lord knows they probably need a few minutes "away" during their time there on duty.

Again, thank you Robert for organizing and conducting this tour for your listeners,

Rick H.
