Lubbock County judge hopeful gets telling endorsement

Pratt on TexasRepublicans do not have a statewide runoff but many have local runoffs such as my home county of Lubbock.

If you live in Lubbock County, you need to vote now for Gary Boren for county judge.

Boren has one of the best records of any in standing for taxpayers and more efficient local government. Gary Boren will fight for taxpayer rights and fully supports the idea of limiting local property tax increases and requiring an automatic roll-back election giving voters the final say when local officials cannot discipline themselves to hold the line on tax increases.

His opponent says his chief qualification for the job is being a lawyer. He has no record in standing for taxpayers and, in fact, spent his political career as a legislative staffer for a big government moderate Republican.

That Parrish would receive the backing of Lubbock’s most anti-taxpayer, failed mayor tells you all you need to know about his political leanings.

Parrish’s links to the big local government moderate Republicans was enhanced this week when he received the endorsement of the worst, most unpopular mayor in Lubbock’s history, David Miller. There is a reason Miller was the only mayor to not win a second two-year term in the city’s history: He was arrogant beyond description and openly hostile to taxpayers.

That Parrish would receive the backing of Lubbock’s most anti-taxpayer, failed mayor tells you all you need to know about his political leanings.

I’m fully backing Gary Boren for Lubbock County judge and ask those in Lubbock to get out and vote for Boren now.

Today, Friday, 18 May is the last day for voting early with Election Day being next Tuesday, 22 May, in party primary runoffs.

Due to retirements there are numerous highly important primary runoffs for Congressional seats too. On Tuesday, Pratt on Texas will team with the KFYO news staff and continue on the air until 10pm giving full coverage of the important runoffs across the state.
