Anti-Wimp: Armed person holds off Waco hostage taker

WFAA reports: Waco police officers shot a male suspect armed with a knife who they believed was holding family members hostage inside a home in the 3800 block of Speight Avenue in Waco shortly after 8:30 a.m. Friday, according to law enforcement.

A family member inside the home called 911 around 8:38 a.m. to report the suspect hitting things in the house and threatening relatives inside, according to Waco Police Sgt. Patrick Swanton.

Two officers entered the home, where they found someone else armed with a handgun and trying to protect the others from the suspect armed with the knife. Sgt. Swanton said the individual was pleading with the suspect not to harm anyone. Read more here.
