Missing the importance in the youth-lead gun control rallies?

Pratt on TexasLeftwing liberal Californian Kamala Harris said of the Democrat-lead youth gun control marches: “I’ll remind you that the Civil Rights Movement was in large-part led by young people in their 20’s. What I saw over the weekend reminds me of that.”

What I saw was more of a reminder of our modern Democrat party: Events with all the trappings of something important; all the media coverage of something important; all the emotional and symbolic posing of something important, but; without any substantive argument being made for any policy which would actually do something important: ensure the safety of children while at school.

Where is the intellectual stimulation in engaging with those who glom on to spotlights and hold themselves out as important because they recognize that it is wrong that innocent people have been murdered and act as if such is a unique realization the enormity of which only they grasp?

The rallies across Texas as well as the nation were bereft of substance and instead simply repeated slogans of fantasy-world dwellers about how we shouldn’t have to fear this or that as if the unpleasant and dangers of living can be mitigated by denouncing such with emotional force.

Also there were the repeated non-specific calls for “gun control.”

Absent of any recognizable substance beyond emotional and wishful thinking, in the “if ifs and buts were candy and nuts, we’d all have a happy Christmas” variety, including any argument as to how generic gun control measures would actually work to produce a safer school environment, the rallies were such a farce that those who campaigned for civil rights of black Americans under very real threat of immediate violence and advocating for very specific, obviously workable reforms, should feel insulted by the shallow comparative comments of Dem-darling Kamala Harris.

Most bothersome was the complete lack of any intellectual substance offered up by those acting as if they were doing something important by rallying with one another.

Where is the intellectual stimulation in engaging with those who glom on to spotlights and hold themselves out as important because they recognize that it is wrong that innocent people have been murdered and act as if such is a unique realization the enormity of which only they grasp?
