The problem with the Left’s use of the term right, or more classically “droit,” is that it uses such to mean a legal and moral claim not limited to one’s own actions and thoughts but to mean a claim to the work and freedom of others.
Globally, the Left, from the all-out communists to the soft-socialists, uses language which sounds as if it granting people rights when in reality the opposite is achieved.
Droits, or rights, as understood through the lens of individual Liberty, are mostly limited to the rights of individuals to do things with and for themselves such as a right to think as you please; right to worship as you please; right to earn, possess, and own things such as a firearm, vehicle, property, or money; the right to travel or live where you wish, or; the right to associate, or not associate, with whomever you please.

For example, we only have a right to a trial by jury by forcing others to serve on juries, and while that may be a social good that we accept, the idea same applies to all else.
One can only have a right to healthcare, for example, ultimately if the state forces people to serve as doctors, nurses, and bedpan cleaners. And, that is how it works in socialist and communist systems: The state tells you where to live, what to study, and what work to do. The young and the ignorant appear fully unaware of this.
Absolutely correct. Such “rights” are achieved only through force or agreement. American success is based on freedom to provide resources by those who desire to serve the needs and thus earn resources to provide for their own needs. Anything else quickly degenerates into a type of tyranny and ultimately destroys the desire to provide rewards. Thus, both spiritual and material damage is done to the human cause.
