Hannity is wrong to condemn the GOP as a whole

Maybe Sean Hannity needs to be reminded that the Republican Party is one thing in D.C. and something different in each of the fifty states. Such broad condemnation of the GOP is not just wrong it is ignorant.

Take Texas for example. In the Lone Star State some rogue and liberal elected officials have indeed been able to slow and even stop parts of the agenda heavily favored by Republican Primary voters but we wouldn’t notice if such were the rule as opposed to the exception.

For the most part, in Texas conservative Republicans hold most major offices and make up at least half of the GOP caucuses in both the state senate and house of representatives. Most of that body of conservatives is not morally corrupt, ineffective, or vision-less.

Governor Greg Abbott has his hard to understand political blind spots but on balance is a champion of driving a government reform agenda forward. There is no debate that Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick is an effective mover of a conservative agenda and such earns him the hatred of the press and liberals across Texas.

We have had great disappointments in Texas but most are due to actual losses in battle, even internal battles when the liberal Republicans run by Joe Straus stop our agenda, not like what we see in D.C. where our own Senator John Cornyn, a key “leader” in the Senate, and other GOP “leaders” are simply unable or unwilling to fight.

There’s a big difference between the GOP in D.C. versus the GOP in many dynamic and well performing states. It is wrong and inaccurate to condemn the Party as a whole as did Hannity.
