Anti-Wimp: Use of licensed-to-carry handgun saves life

A Monday visit to an AT&T store in the Oak Lawn section of Dallas turned nightmare for a man but use of his licensed-to-carry handgun seems to have saved his life.

Melinda Gutierrez, Dallas police spokeswoman, told NBCDFW that the person who called 911 said someone ran up to him and threatened to kill him. The caller, who is a concealed handgun owner, shot and killed the person, Gutierrez said.

The fatal shooting happened in the parking lot of the Oak Lawn AT&T store shortly after 10 a.m. on Monday, 11 September.

NBCDFW reported: “Nearly one dozen police patrol cars were seen outside the store, along with one Dallas Fire-Rescue ambulance. One person was seen detained in the back seat of a police cruiser. Neither of the people involved have been identified and police have not said if the man who shot the other will face any charges.”
