Leftists lambaste Abbott for putting children first

Governor Abbott signed Rep. James Frank’s bill, HB3859, known as the Freedom to Serve Children Act.  The bill protects faith-based providers from being targets of discrimination or litigation if they do not refer girls for abortion or if they only place children in homes with a married mother and father.

“One-fourth of all foster care agencies in Texas are faith-based, but there has been a trend nationally of religious placement organizations closing as the result of being forced to deny their beliefs. Because of the crisis in state-run foster care, faith-based providers have been asked to do more to help care for foster children. Many faith-based providers want to do so, but before HB 3859, state law did not protect them from being targets of grant discrimination or litigation,” Texas Values explains.

And once again, the Left shows that their political agenda is more important than serving the most needy among us by lambasting the Abbott for signing the bill.

“With his signature today, Gov. Abbott has joined the lieutenant governor and other lawmakers in taking Texas down a dark and cruel road. This law’s clear intent is to allow service providers that receive state tax dollars to misuse religion as a license to discriminate against LGBT families and children in the state’s child-welfare system,” said Kathy Miller with the left-leaning Texas Freedom Network according to the American-Statesman.

It’s shameful that Leftist continue to put the homosexual agenda above proven traditional values, far worse that they put such above the needs of children in our crisis-riddled foster care system.
