Chinese communists demand state-run public school too

In China’s most Christian city, about 360 crosses were ordered removed from the outside of church buildings in 2014 as China’s new leader, to be meeting with Trump this week, stepped up the press for Marxist ideological control on the country.

The latest Zhejiang government move on Christian churches, those that are legal with state approval, is the mandatory installation of surveillance cameras.  The story in the South China Morning Post reported that “churches were told to install cameras at gates, rostrums, offering boxes and other places…”

The communist government in China says the cameras are for “anti-terrorism and security purposes.”

“Last week,” the Morning Post reported, “the far western region of Xinjiang – home to more than 10 million mostly Muslim Uygurs – passed new rules targeting what it called religious extremism.”

Two of these rules are of high interest. One is refusing to watch state television or listen to state radio and the other is preventing children from receiving “national education.”

The Leftists in this country have longed to stamp out ideologically competing media and did so to a great degree through the so-called Fairness Doctrine for decades; rightly undone by Ronald Reagan.

Freedom of thought begins at home, that’s why the statist-Left wants children out of the house and into the state-run classroom as soon as possible.

The other communist demand of interest goes right to the origins of Marxist ideology; that all children must receive a state-directed and programmed education.

Today in Texas we hear the same arguments as the Chinese Communists; Karl Marx; Lenin, and all the other evil doers of the Left when it comes to school choice. I’ve personally had discussions with Republican elected officials who, without knowing it, cite almost direct communist ideology when explaining why the state-run public school model is so sacred to them.

Freedom of thought begins at home, that’s why the statist-Left wants children out of the house and into the state-run classroom as soon as possible.
