Ignorance disturbs; NFL gets told off

“Anti-secrecy organization WikiLeaks released a set of documents allegedly showing CIA espionage on candidates in France’s 2012 presidential elections,” The Daily Caller reported. And I’m glad this is out because I’ve been shocked at how many people are ignorant of the fact that the good old’ U.S. of A. routinely involves itself in the elections of many – either through direct manipulation or intelligence gathering. It is our job to steer the world our way.

Also shocking to me is that there are people alarmed at a Russian boat off the coast observing our military operations. Such has been the case routinely in the air, on the sea and on land for half a century. Our country does much the same to Russia, China and a host of other places – it’s what countries do. Are that many people actually ignorant to such? I’m baffled by reactions to it all.

…would it be any real loss to Texas is some sports franchises chose not to play their big game in the Lone Star State?

Turning to back Texas, I was glad to hear Governor Abbott give the weasels at the NFL an earful about  political policy in Texas. Abbott said: “The NFL is walking on thin ice right here. The NFL needs to concentrate on playing football and get the heck out of politics.”

“For some low-level NFL adviser to come out and say that they are going to micromanage and try to dictate to the state of Texas what types of policies we’re going to pass in our state, that’s unacceptable. We don’t care what the NFL thinks and certainly what their political policies are because they are not a political arm of the state of Texas or the United States of America. They need to learn their place in the United States, which is to govern football, not politics,” Abbott said on the Glen Beck program.

And seriously, would it be any real loss to Texas is some sports franchises chose not to play their big game in the Lone Star State? Not really.

  1. Robert, from the first mention of all this, it was my opinion that these pro sports organizations need Texas a lot more than Texas needs them, LIke an invited house guest who delivers a regret, they will be missed. But, Texas will survive.
