“A robbery suspect is dead Thursday after an elderly homeowner shot him while he was attempting to break down the man’s front door… According to San Antonio Police, an elderly couple was inside of their home when the suspect broke the door handle off the front door… A background check of the homeowner reveals he is 79 years old, has an extensive Army background and has written more than a dozen military-themed novels… The homeowner’s weapon was recovered at the scene and he is not expected to face any charges, an SAPD spokesman confirmed.”
