Nice legs or not, illegal aliens shouldn’t get a free ride to school off Texas taxpayers

Lana Shadwick at Breitbart Texas reported: “A student who is an illegal immigrant has received a great deal of pushback for bragging about getting an all tuition paid free ride to the University of Texas.”

“She not only took to Twitter to blow her own horn about her self-accessed “nice legs” and her “13 cords/medals,” “4.5GPA” and Valedictorian status at Crockett High School, she also had to add, “oh and I’m undocumented.” [image]

“The thought of an illegal immigrant having a full ride to the University, and presumably on taxpayer dollars, has Texans and others seeing red,” Shadwick reported.

…liberal Texas House leadership has resisted attempts to roll back this patently unfair, non-equitable law that allows illegals an advantage not available to legal Americans, including those who own property and businesses in Texas and pay taxes here, but whose children can’t get the discount because they live out of state.

Rick Perry signed HB 1403 and supported its passage in 2001. It is the bill titled “Texas Dream Act” which puts taxpayers on the hook for tuition subsidies for illegal aliens in Texas. And to date, liberal Texas House leadership has resisted attempts to roll back this patently unfair, non-equitable law that allows illegals an advantage not available to legal Americans, including those who own property and businesses in Texas and pay taxes here, but whose children can’t get the discount because they live out of state.

Senator Charles Perry and other conservatives have tried to stop this taxpayer handout to illegal aliens. Hopefully with your pressure the situation can be fixed in next year’s legislative session.

Meanwhile the braggadocious illegal alien Mayte Lara will keep benefitting from our generous society while rubbing our nose in our own stupidity – maybe she’s actually doing us a favor. And she’s not alone.
