The Laredo Sector of the National Border Patrol Council, representing approximately 1,300 Border Patrol Agents, has announced its endorsement  of Lubbock Mayor Glen Robertson in the GOP runoff for Texas’ 19th Congressional District.

Their announcement read: “Unlike his opponent in the Texas Congressional District 19 race, Glen Robertson is an outsider who has created hundreds of jobs, pledged to bring about aggressive reform of our border security apparatus and common sense to our Nation’s immigration laws. Mayor Robertson is completely independent of special interests. Our country does not need a person who has the perfect Washington-approved tone, and certainly not another establishment politician.”

Our country does not need a person who has the perfect Washington-approved tone, and certainly not another establishment politician.

“Mayor Glen Robertson has been to the Laredo Sector of the border and has joined U.S. Border Patrol Agents in the fight to secure our borders. More importantly, he has LISTENED to field agents about their concerns with federal leadership. Mayor Robertson is a man of his word who doesn’t embrace political correctness, who doesn’t need special interest money or donations from career politicians and political operatives. Glen Robertson is pro-military and values law enforcement, and is angry that our Border Patrol agents are not being afforded the support or leadership we need to simply do our jobs. Glen Robertson will be our most effective voice in Congress,” the statement summed up.

Interestingly the border patrol agents were able to easily pick-up on the real Jodey Arrington – review this line again from their statement: “Our country does not need a person who has the perfect Washington-approved tone…”  Yep, that’s insider Jodey Arrington – “perfect Washington-approved tone” – that never gets much done except empowering fellow insiders.

    Robert,
I am amazed by the number of Arrington signs in the Big Country. My only guess is it is his affiliation with Texas Tech.

Never, never confuse signs with support. I’ve seen many campaigns that had many more signs out than they got votes at the ballot box. Signs just take money and people putting them out.
